Description

For General Scott Drake, the attack on the USA by religious fanatic with nuclear weapons, not only destroyed four American cities, but his life as he knew it. They say vengeance is a dish best served cold, but for the men and woman who went over the border with him to deliver that vengeance, it was dish served hot. Hot from the barrel of a gun. Yet in victory came defeat as he found three hundred years later in the world he woke up in. One far different from the one he’d left behind when he went into cold sleep. Now he had to find a place in this strange new world, one without the means to wage war against an alien race raping the planet. First, he had to build an army, navy and air force from scratch while fending off attacks from the aliens and the secret government that wanted to put him and his men back into cold sleep, or the grave.

  1. Rated 5 out of 5

    Richard Dawson: Wonderful delightful tale!
Rob has done a masterful job of building interesting characters and exciting adventure. The book starts with a chilling scenario and rolls quickly to an amazing plot line that caught me by surprise, fantastic! Undercurrents of devious bad guys lurk below the surface, foreshadowed for the lime light in latter novels. Thumbs up, well done.

Frank Fuller: Dad gum good story
Dad gum good story. Interesting from page 1 on to the end. Rob Buckman is excellent story teller and a good writer. I read some of other books and they were all good as well. Do yourself a favor and read it.

    Ken Pence:
Starts out a little preachy but don’t let that dissuade you — story will grab you. Militant get nukes and destroy several US cities and one general rallies the troops and destroys those cabals. Rather than face imprisonment — he and many of his troops are put in cold sleep for 300 years — bit of a spoiler (not really because the story is so different and engaging) — the world is a changed place when they awaken and aliens are ‘engaging’ current citizens. Wrote the author and said I’d trade editing just for privilege of reading next in series (next one is even better and well worth the price) – fun, fun story
